Sean 'Diddy' Combs hit with new sex trafficking charges a month before trial

Federal prosecutors have added two charges to Sean "Diddy" Combs' indictment, expanding on allegations that the jailed hip-hop mogul engaged in sex trafficking as recently as last year.

A superseding indictment filed Friday accuses Combs of using force, fraud, or coercion to compel a woman to engage in commercial sex acts from at least 2021 to 2024.

The indictment, returned by a federal grand jury in Manhattan, also alleges Combs was involved in transporting the woman — identified only as Victim-2 — and other people, including commercial sex workers, to engage in prostitution during the same timeframe.

The new charges are in addition to racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges filed against Combs when he was arrested in September. They increased the total number of charges against him from three to five.

Combs, 55, is scheduled to stand trial May 5. He remains locked up in a federal jail in Brooklyn. A message seeking comment on the new charges was left with his representatives.

Friday’s superseding indictment is the second filed against Combs.

In the first, in January, federal prosecutors disclosed that their case involved at least three women whom they said Combs forced to engage in commercial sex acts. They also alleged Combs showed a firearm to a female victim during a kidnapping and once dangled a woman over an apartment balcony.

Combs' January indictment didn't include additional charges but modified some details of the existing ones, including adding four years to the alleged racketeering conspiracy. Prosecutors now say it started in 2004, not 2008 as the original indictment had alleged.

Combs denies committing any crimes and has pleaded not guilty to the first set of charges, which allege that he coerced and abused women for years with help from a network of associates and employees while silencing victims through blackmail and violence, including kidnapping, arson and physical beatings.

His arraignment on the new charges has not been scheduled. Prosecutors asked Friday that it be held at his final pretrial conference on April 25.

Central to the case is a March 2016 video showing Combs hitting and kicking his then-girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie, in a Los Angeles hotel hallway. Prosecutors contend the assault happened during a "Freak Off." Combs' lawyers argue the footage was nothing more than a "glimpse into a complex but decade-long consensual relationship" between the two.

Combs' lawyers contend the case should never have been brought and are fighting to dismiss a charge involving allegations he transported a male escort across state lines.

"The government has concocted a criminal case based primarily on allegations that Mr. Combs and two of his longtime girlfriends sometimes brought a third party — a male escort — into their sexual relationship," Combs' lawyer, Alexandra A.E. Shapiro, wrote in a February court filing.

"Each of the three charges in the case are premised on the theory that this type of sexual activity is a federal crime," Shapiro added.

Father of Marine vet murdered in Mexico praises Trump admin sanctions on Sinaloa cartel: 'Palpable' momentum

The father of a 31-year-old Marine veteran from Arizona who was murdered at an illegal checkpoint while driving to the beach in Mexico in 2024 said he did not expect Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to reference his son’s name when announcing new sanctions against the Sinaloa cartel this week.  

Doug Quets, a U.S. military veteran himself, whose son, Nicholas Quets, served for four years in the Marines, said he was "really humbled and pleasantly surprised" that Bessent remembered him, as well as another American, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena. Camarena was abducted, tortured and killed in 1985. 

Bessent named both men in a video statement released Monday – what would have been Nicholas Quets’ 32nd birthday – that announced Treasury Department sanctions against six individuals and seven entities allegedly involved in a money-laundering network supporting the Sinaloa cartel. 

"I had full faith in President Trump… I knew we weren’t forgotten, but when the secretary mentioned my son’s name, no, I was not. I was not expecting that," Doug Quets told Fox News Digital. "I have the faith in a lot of different levels of our government and in God that things could be done, because in fact, if you apply, if you pursue these problems and you confront these problems, they're basically bullies, right? And so if you let the bullies go, they become bolder and bolder. But if you confront them, you can defeat them. So the momentum against these groups is palpable right now. I mean, you can feel it, you know that that's occurring. And that's only because of the United States deciding to do something about it."

Quets noted the contrast between the Trump administration's message and what he heard from officials on both sides of the border five and a half months ago. He said his grieving family was told repeatedly by officials in the wake of Nicholas' slaying in the Mexican state of Sonora that "we’re sorry, but there’s nothing that can be done." 

"That, to me, is just infuriating because [as] somebody that's spent a lot of time providing security for others and promoting welfare, the knowledge that nothing can be done against bullies and criminals, that perspective is wrong. You just have to confront it," Quets told Fox News Digital. "We can win any fight. And we can win this fight. And knowing that President Trump is taking it very seriously, yeah, that gives me hope, gives my family hope that this will come to a good ending for so many people. It'll never come to good ending for me, the things we want back, you know, they're not coming back, but we can protect your family. We can protect other families." 

Quets praised Trump for using "all instruments of U.S. national power" against the cartels and described receiving "overwhelming" support from the National Security Council, Justice Department and the FBI.

"It's moving, it never moves as fast as you want as a parent, but he has taken our case very seriously, and I'm super happy for that. And everything we discussed, he has moved out on and as fast, I'm convinced, as fast as he could," Quets said. 

"The United States government's capable of doing anything it wants to do in this world if it makes it important enough. And it's just how important we want to make it," Quets said. "If you pull the right levers and you do the right things and you do them in the name of justice, in the name of security of American citizens, you're always doing the right thing."

About three weeks ago, Attorney General Pam Bondi said she had a "powerful and emotional phone call" with Judge Enrique Camarena, the son of murdered DEA Special Agent Camarena, following the extradition of his alleged killer, Rafael Caro Quintero. Quintero was among 29 defendants taken into U.S. custody in February to face prosecution in the United States for cartel-related crimes dating back to the 1980s.

Quets declined to reveal updates about his son’s case amid the active investigation but welcomed those extraditions as a sign of the growing momentum from U.S. agencies in confronting this "evil." 

"I am pleased. I'm not surprised because I did know it could be done. And I did feel like it would be done under President Trump, but I'm pleased that these extraditions have started," Quets said.

Nicholas Quets, who was employed by Pima County, Arizona, in water reclamation and ran his own side business as a welder at the time of his death, was making a drive many Americans had made before down to the Mexican beach town of Rocky Point when he was murdered on Oct. 18, 2024, during the height of the election campaign, after evading an illegal checkpoint in Caborca, according to his father. 

The family later learned the route had become more treacherous with rival cartels fighting over the area, and two elderly American women were killed at a similar checkpoint about a month beforehand, though that story received little news coverage at the time. Nicholas Quets was pursued by cartel members on an about seven-mile chase before they ran his pick-up truck into a cement median, and the alleged cartel members "shot him in the back as cowards," according to Doug Quets. 

Just days after his son’s murder, Doug Quets said he met with vice presidential candidate and then-Sen. JD Vance, of Ohio, while he was campaigning in Arizona. Trump also met with the grieving father, who praised both Republicans for their humanity in speaking with him for about 15 minutes each while they were in the "fight of their lives" in the swing state. 

Doug Quets said he was ignored by Democratic vice-presidential candidate and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’ team when he made a campaign stop in the state. Trump later invited the Quets family to a rally in nearby Nevada, and Doug Quets said Trump unexpectedly introduced him to the crowd and invited him on stage to speak. 

"There was no script, there was nothing else. President Trump just put all his blind faith in me to just tell the truth," Quets said. "Nick was an innocent U.S. citizen driving to the beach and was executed by cowards in the back." 

"You have to accept the fact that, you know, there is good and there is bad and there is evil in the world. And my son, through no fault of his own, confronted evil. And that evil, you know, is now being held accountable and is going to be made to pay."

Paige Spiranac touts fitness transformation while firing back at critic

Golf influencer Paige Spiranac showed off her workout gains in a social media post Wednesday, an effort she said she’s worked hard at the last few years.

Spiranac posted two photos of herself, comparing what she looked like when she first started her professional career versus what she looks like now.

"I went from having my back connect to my thighs to this," Spiranac wrote on X. "It’s not the biggest peach now but I’ve been working harder than I ever have in the gym and also with my diet. Heck yeah I’m going to show it off!

Spiranac’s post was a response to a critic upset with how she presented herself in one of her videos in which she showed off her golf bag. But the golfer has been known to clap back at rude comments.

She’s routinely fired back at comments about her golf attire and the way she’s dressed. In an interview with Sports Illustrated in September 2023, she explained why she wears what she does.

"When I switched into golf, we were struggling a little bit financially and so I didn't have the luxury to go out and buy a whole new golf-appropriate wardrobe. And so, I wore what was in my closet which was workout clothes. That's just how I learned to play the game."

In July 2023, she called out the "hypocrisy" of comments in a video showing two half-naked baseball players on the mound. She noted that the players weren’t getting negative comments about what they were doing.

"Interesting how different the reaction is online when men choose to show off their bodies," she wrote on X at the time. "Not one comment on this video calling them attention whores or sluts. Just a ton of women saying baseball is now their favorite sport but those same women harshly judge me. The hypocrisy lol."

Spiranac has more than 4 million followers on Instagram and another 1.6 million on TikTok.

Tesla owner confronts Pennsylvania man accused of scratching swastika on SUV

An individual accused of defacing a Tesla with a swastika is facing charges and has reportedly apologized for the "misguided" behavior.

Video footage shows the Tesla owner confronting the vandal, according to reports. In the video, the man says he used a crayon, not a key, and apologizes.

"I have nothing against your car, and I have nothing against you," he said. "Obviously, I have something against Elon Musk."

The man described his behavior "misguided."

Reports indicate the suspect is Chadd Ritenbaugh.

"My client is a proud father, long-time resident, and is currently undergoing cancer treatment," Ritenbaugh's attorney Paul Lang said in a statement. "We will reserve further comment pending the outcome of the case."

In a post on bucks.crimewatchpa.com, the Central Bucks Regional Police Department indicated that after visiting the gym, the "Victim noticed fresh damage to their Tesla that appeared to be scratches in the shape of a swastika, when they arrived home."

The alleged vandalism was captured by the Tesla. The victim checked the recording and found someone scratching "into the side of the Tesla using an unknown object," the police department's post noted.

Gym staff identified the suspect with his membership, according to authorities.

"The video camera at 0924 hours on March 24, 2025, shows the suspect walking into Planet Fitness wearing the same clothes and carrying the same bag from the Tesla video camera footage. He scans his membership card with front desk staff and proceeds into the gym. Suspect was identified by both his gym membership identification card, and his Pennsylvania Driver's License photo," the post states.

He faces charges of criminal mischief, harassment and disorderly conduct, according to the department.

Fox News Digital reached out to the police department on Tuesday, but no comment had been provided by the time of publication.

White House considers Signal chat leak case 'closed,' reiterates support for Waltz, press secretary says

The White House considers the Signal group chat leak case "closed," Trump administration press secretary Karoline Leavitt told the media Monday while reiterating President Donald Trump's support of national security advisor Mike Waltz.

"As the president has made it very clear, Mike Waltz continues to be an important part of his national security team," Leavitt told the media in brief remarks during a gaggle outside of the White House's press room Monday afternoon. "And this case has been closed here at the White House, as far as we are concerned." 

"There have been steps made to ensure that something like that can obviously never happen again," she continued. "And we're moving forward. And the president and Mike Waltz and his entire national security team have been working together very well, if you look at how much safer the United States of America is because of the leadership of this team." 

The Trump administration came under scrutiny from Democrats and other critics after the Atlantic's editor-in-chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, revealed in an article published March 24 that he was added to a Signal group chat with top national security leaders, including Waltz, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and CIA Director John Ratcliffe.

Leavitt told the media Wednesday that the administration was investigating the incident, explaining Elon Musk's team was also assisting with the investigation.

"They just don’t stop – Over and over they go! Meet the Fake Press should instead explain how successful the attack was, and how Sleepy Joe Biden should have done it YEARS AGO," he posted. 

"This story and narrative is so old and boring, but only used because we are having the most successful ‘First One Hundred Presidential Days’ in the history of America, and they can’t find anything else to talk about. The Fake News Media has the lowest Approval Ratings in history, and for good reason. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!"

New research reveals how EV, emissions mandates are inflating costs for gas-powered cars, utilities

FIRST ON FOX: Government subsidies for electric vehicles (EVs), combined with a regulatory credit system for vehicle emissions, are leading to rising automobile and utility costs, a new report from the American Energy Institute (AEI) reveals.

Increasingly stringent Corporate Average Fuel Economy and greenhouse gas tailpipe emissions standards have forced gas-powered vehicle manufacturers to produce more EVs. As a result, this has siphoned auto manufacturers' resources away from gas-powered vehicle production and toward EV production, ultimately pushing the costs of gas-powered cars higher, according a report by the AEI.

If auto manufacturers do not produce enough EVs to meet state and federal standards, they are forced to buy into a credit system to offset their emissions production, inevitably creating another avenue where additional costs are transferred to consumers, according to the report.

Utility costs also see an impact, AEI's report points out. State and federal subsidy and rebate programs for EV charging infrastructure, while beneficial for utility companies' profits, lead once more to increased costs that are subsequently passed on to rate payers. Forty states offer rebates for in-home level two chargers, while at the federal level, rebate and subsidy programs for EV charging infrastructure received an investment of roughly $7.5 billion under former President Joe Biden.

"By distorting the market with regulatory credits, subsidies, and behind-the-scenes rulemaking, federal agencies are shifting costs from affluent EV buyers to working-class Americans — while straining a grid that’s already under pressure," said Jason Isaac, co-author of the report and the founder and CEO of AEI. "This isn’t about consumer choice or energy innovation. It’s administrative overreach that leaves Americans paying more to drive and to keep the lights on."

Isaac, a former Texas state representative, admitted that during his time in the legislature, he worked to create an EV subsidy in the Lone Star State, which provided all EV buyers with a $2,500 tax credit. He said that over time, he realized the majority of fully electric vehicles were being purchased by wealthier individuals who, according to the National Bureau of Economic Research, would have done so even without the subsidies. 

"This policy is not a home run," said Hunt Allcott, a professor of environmental social sciences and a senior fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, with regard to the federal EV tax credit system. "While the [Inflation Reduction Act's] electric vehicle tax credits have slowed climate change and shifted production to U.S. manufacturing firms, they also impose high costs on U.S. taxpayers."

Each EV that's purchased benefits from an estimated $94,000 to $153,000 in hidden subsidies over a 10-year period, according to research from the AEI. These figures account for the costs automakers bear to meet government mandates as well as losses from forced EV production, expenses that ultimately raise prices for consumers.

Rebates and subsidies for EV charging infrastructure are driving up base utility rates for consumers as well, the AEI report states. It is estimated that if each EV sold resulted in one in-home or commercial charging infrastructure, the more than 1.1 million EVs sold in 2023 would have received more than $827 million in residential charging tax credits. 

Isaac said these rebates and subsidies are then used by utility companies to lobby public utility commissions to approve higher base rates because they are enhancing their infrastructure to improve EV infrastructure.   

"When you go buy a gallon of gasoline, [taxpayers] are not helping you pay for that gallon of gasoline; all the costs are embedded within a gallon of gasoline," Isaac said. "So the typical EV charge, whatever they pay at the charging station, is only a small portion of the expenses. That charging station itself has received a significant subsidy, both from the state and the federal government, and the utility has come in and increased the infrastructure or improved, enhanced the infrastructure to handle that load, and the rate payers in that particular area are picking up that burden."

One anecdote used in the report to illustrate the cost burden of EV charging subsidies and rebates posits that if one homeowner were to purchase an EV charger on a street of 10 people, and the local electric company provides that homeowner with a $500 rebate, the downhill impacts lead to each of the 10 households shouldering a roughly $50 cost to build the charger as a result of the subsidized rate increases.

The increased costs on gas-powered car buyers and utility rate payers, Issac said, illustrates the need to get rid of these clean-air mandates. 

"Eliminating these costly EV mandates is exactly the kind of action needed under President Trump’s energy emergency," Isaac said. "It would jump-start a resurgence in the American auto industry, lower the price of new vehicles and ease pressure on our electric grid, bringing down energy costs for every household."

Fox News Digital reached out to several EV advocacy groups, including Drive Change. Drive Electric, Plug In America, DriveElectric USA, EVHybridNoire, the Sierra Club and the Electric Vehicle Association, but did not receive a response in time for publication of this story.

AG files last-minute appeal to block Musk from gifting $2 million to voters in high-stakes WI court race

Wisconsin’s attorney general filed a last-minute appeal to the state Supreme Court days after an appellate court denied his request to prevent billionaire DOGE leader Elon Musk from giving $1 million checks to two individuals at Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate Brad Schimel’s Green Bay rally on Sunday evening.

An appeals judge rejected Democrat Joshua Kaul’s bid for an emergency injunction Saturday, as Schimel – a Republican former state attorney general and current Waukesha judge – faces liberal jurist Susan Crawford in the officially nonpartisan race to fill a seat on the blue-trending court.

Kaul asked the 4-3 liberal-majority court to reach a decision "as soon as possible but no later than the planned event on Sunday evening."

Musk has publicly backed and contributed millions of dollars toward Schimel, and Kaul argued the giveaway violates state election laws. The tech mogul also came under fire for making a similar offer in Pennsylvania during the 2024 presidential election.

There, Gov. Josh Shapiro told NBC during the campaign season he found Musk’s behavior "deeply concerning." The former commonwealth attorney general added such offers are something police should "take a look at."

In Kaul's filing, he is requesting the Wisconsin Supreme Court for an injunction, alleging "[r]espondents’ offer to pay $1 million to two Wisconsin electors, conditioned on their having voted in the upcoming election, is a violation of Wisconsin Statute § 12.11, which prohibits offering ‘anything of value’ in exchange for "vot[ing] or refrain[ing] from voting." 

The emergency basis of his injunction request is therefore rational, Kaul argued.

"This Court should grant the petition for original action and issue an immediate temporary injunction (1) prohibiting Respondents from further promoting the million-dollar giveaway to attendees of the planned event on Sunday, March 30, 2025, (2) prohibiting Respondents from making any payments to Wisconsin electors to vote, and (3) prohibiting all actions by Respondents taken in furtherance of a planned violation of Wis. Stat. § 12.11."

Musk said in a statement Friday that he wished to "clarify a previous [X] post" on the matter.

"[E]ntrance is limited to those who have signed the petition in opposition to activist judges. I will also hand over checks for a million dollars to 2 people to be spokesmen for the petition," Musk said.

Wisconsin Democratic Party Chairman Ben Wikler told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel it appeared Musk deleted a prior post to cover up "evidence of his crime."

The key off-year race, scheduled for Tuesday, could have national implications, according to both sides.

Schimel supporters previously warned Fox News Digital that two Republican congressmen – House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil of Kenosha and Rep. Derrick Van Orden of Prairie du Chien – could see their districts intentionally redrawn in a backdoor attempt to oust them from office next cycle if Crawford wins.
